Womble Bond Dickinson (WBD) has advised real estate client Taylor Wimpey Southern Counties on its acquisition of a new site in New Alresford, Hampshire.

The Sun Lane site benefits from outline planning consent for 320 new homes as well as over 3 hectares of commercial land and ample open space for future residents.

The WBD team advising on the transaction was led by Southampton-based real estate partner Tim Burbidge. Tim was supported by Elizabeth Cooke-Smith, Amy Hodge and new residential development partner Kathryn Wood.

Tim commented:

"We are thrilled to have acted for Taylor Wimpey on this acquisition which provides exciting housing and commercial development opportunities in the Hampshire area. Our strong credentials providing legal expertise to housebuilders, coupled with our understanding of the local market, meant we were able to secure the best possible outcome for our client."

Phillip Rosewarne, Land Director at Taylor Wimpey Southern Counties, added:

"We are very grateful to Tim and the WBD team for their expert legal advice on this significant matter. Being able to rely on a local team of lawyers from a large UK-wide firm, with the right skillset, knowledge and lead by a Senior Partner, has been key for us."
