Amy has specialised in transactional construction matters since qualifying. She has represented a wide range of clients including funders, employers, main contractors and sub-contractors from both the private and public sector.

The non-contentious work which Amy carries out includes preparation of loss and expense and extension of time claims, advising on issues such as late or non payment, defective works, LADs etc, reviewing and advising on different forms of building contracts, drafting amendments to construction documentation, drafting consultant's appointments, warranties and assignments. She assists the commercial property and corporate departments with all construction related matters, which primarily involves due diligence of the construction documents.

Examples of experience include:
  • Experience in dispute avoidance and all forms of dispute resolution, including mediation, adjudication, arbitration and litigation
  • Experience in representing parties in adjudications, including advising on the legal position prior to commencing the adjudication, drafting pleadings and dealing with enforcement of the adjudicator's decision in litigation proceedings
  • Numerous High Court litigations where she has acted for both claimants and defendants at all stages of the proceedings, including pre action negotiations, drafting pleadings, drafting witness statements, instructing experts and counsel through to preparing for trial and attending trial.
