We aim to minimise the impact the firm has on the environment and are committed to enhancing our environmental performance and finding sustainable ways to improve our environmental management system.
We are a founding member of the Legal Sustainability Alliance - an inclusive movement of leading law firms committed to working collaboratively to take positive action on climate change. This is done by measuring, reducing and reporting our carbon footprint.
We have also been awarded the Planet Mark certification which is based on the commitment to continuous improvement in sustainability in business operations by measuring and reducing carbon emissions and engaging stakeholders year-on-year.
Working alongside our clients and suppliers, we take every opportunity to align our environmental strategies.
With this in mind, we have set up five obtainable environmental targets to complete by 2020; emphasising our commitment of being a responsible, sustainably and environmentally-friendly business.
Some practical measures we are taking include starting a major campaign to help eradicate all plastics in our working environment; installing LED lighting, reducing printing volumes, encouraging the use of video conferencing, refiltering mains water for consumption, as well as reducing the amount of food waste and energy consumption across our offices.
We're proud to be the first law firm to be an Ambassador for the right Waste, right Place campaign, a national initiative by the Environmental Services Association aimed at raising awareness of the duty of care for waste management amongst UK businesses.
All of this has helped us achieve accreditation to ISO14001 International Standard in Environmental Management.
