Are you looking to start a career in law? Our legal and business service apprenticeship programmes at Womble Bond Dickinson (WBD) provides you with valuable work experience and qualifications  – without the cost of going to university.

Whether you are a school or college leaver, or considering a change in your career - our award-winning apprenticeship programmes are a great way to gain relevant skills and qualifications, through a combination of paid, on-the-job learning and dedicated study time.

You can become one of our many students across the UK, earning as they study to become a lawyer or business service professional in the legal sector.

Our Solicitor Apprenticeship Programme remains an important part of how we develop future talent at WBD. As we review our wider Early Talent strategy, we're not currently accepting applications for our Solicitor Apprenticeship. This allows us to ensure our future programmes are designed to meet the needs of our business and those beginning their careers in law. We remain committed to apprenticeships and alternative pathways into the profession. Please stay connected with us through our Early Talent community and social media channels for updates.

Unsure if a career in law is for you? Take a look at some of the myths that we want to bust about the legal profession here.

Solicitor apprenticeships

Our six-year solicitor apprenticeship programme is a paid, full-time role, with 20% of your time dedicated to 'off-the-job' training.

During your apprenticeship, you will experience a variety of practice areas and build a strong work portfolio, whilst obtaining a law degree - sitting your Solicitor Qualifying Exams in years five and six. You will be fully supported by both WBD and our course partners, The University of Law.

If you are interested in studying law and becoming a solicitor through our apprenticeship programme, you will need a minimum of 3 A Levels (or equivalent) and GCSEs in Maths and English, all at grade C or above.

Unfortunately, we are unable to accept applications from those who already hold a law degree, GDL or LPC.

Our Early Talent team use these behaviours to measure your potential to develop these skills – rather than focusing on past behaviours and skills.

The recruitment process for our solicitor apprenticeships typically involves an application form and online test, an assessment day and a work placement week.
