International firm Womble Bond Dickinson (WBD) has taken part in a news-style programme from ITN Business highlighting the changing face of the workforce and the uptake of apprenticeship schemes.
Partner and head of the firm's Bristol office Jon Bower and solicitor apprentice Amela Kasemi appeared on the programme 'Apprenticeships: Unlocking Opportunities' to discuss the firm's approach to apprenticeships and the benefits it can bring to both those undertaking the study and the organisations which utilise them.
Amela, who has been with the firm as an apprentice since 2022, discussed the importance of combining the theoretical work with the practical day-to-day experience during the programme.
The firm's six-year solicitor apprenticeship programme is a paid, full-time role, with 20% of time dedicated to 'off-the-job' training.
During the scheme, apprentices experience a variety of practice areas and build a strong work portfolio while obtaining their law degree, sitting their Solicitor Qualifying Exams in years five and six.
Applications for WBD's January 2026 intake of solicitor apprentices will open on 17 February 2025.
The programme features key industry and news-style reports along with sponsored editorial profiles. To watch the full interview, please watch the video below.
