    Our recruitment process

    We like our recruitment process to be more like a conversation than a form filling, box ticking exercise. We want to have an open and honest dialogue with like-minded individuals. To take the time to understand each other, identify opportunities and the ways in which we share the same approach and values. We need to get to know you and vice versa – it's not rocket science after all.

    As part of this we think it’s important you get to meet key partners and the relevant business group heads. It’s also important for you to meet peers across departments and specialisms.

    When the process needs to become more formal we will work with you to produce a business case and ask you to meet members of our appointments committee. All of our potential partner hires need to go to a partnership vote – we have an all equity partnership and as such any potential hires have to be supported and agreed. Finally as with all new hires, we have a robust pre-employment and screening process that will involve reference, financial probity and identity checks, before you join us.

    Just because you’re a partner doesn’t mean we have forgotten about the need for career development. We have a strong and established approach to partnership career development – whether through our lawyer career framework, individual development sessions or our newly launched Emerging Leaders programme.

    Our lawyer framework demonstrates the career paths available. Along with clear, observable, measurable performance standards for every role (including those of Junior Equity and Senior Equity Partner) as well as a robust annual appraisal system, it gives you a clear idea of your personal career development plan.

    Helping you to feel part of the team is important. Our tailored induction programme, run over your first 90 days, helps you to feel at home within the partnership and firm as a whole. In addition, whilst it is likely you’ll be based in one location, our teams are spread geographically. This means there will be many opportunities for partners and teams to join together, not only for cross office working but for social interaction.

    Your salary and benefits

    Your remuneration will be individual to you but will include:

    • As a Junior Equity partner, a basic fixed monetary amount paid in equal instalments throughout the year.  As a Full Equity partner your remuneration will entirely be calculated on an allocation of points
    • A number of equity points
    • Eligibility for our Partner bonus scheme
    • A capital contribution per point will be required

    • BUPA
    • 30 days' holiday.
