It's no secret that we're an ambitious firm. All of our people contribute to our success, not just our lawyers.
We are looking for like-minded professionals who want to be challenged and rewarded, who have client service high on their agenda as well as the drive to exceed expectations. We value our people and we want them to enjoy long and successful careers with us.
We're lucky enough to work with some exceptional legal talent. They’re forward thinking and quick to adapt to a changing legal landscape. To be successful, however, they rely hugely on the support they receive from our equally talented business professionals. From the dedicated secretarial and administrative teams who put together complex documents, transcribe dictations and provide key day to day assistance, to the IT experts developing and delivering first class systems and then making sure we are fully trained and getting the best from them.
We have a dedicated business development team that looks after our client and sector development programmes, organises events, manages our press coverage, guides us through the tender process and develops our marketing and communications tools.
Our large expert finance function ensures we comply with Solicitors Accounts Rules, provides critical management information and includes the very busy billings team.
We also have a facilities team making sure we have a great place to work and everything we need to deliver results effectively.
HR professionals look after everyone, ensuring there is career development, our well-being is looked after, we employ the best people and that we are rewarded for our hard work.
Finally our risk and best practice specialists ensure we are meeting our regulatory obligations, service standards and maintain our ISO 9001 and 27001 accreditations.
Whatever your field of work, whether you have legal sector experience or not, if you want to have a real impact on our business, and contribute at an operational or a strategic level, we would love to hear from you.
We want you to really understand what we’re about. That’s why the recruitment process is two-way, giving you the chance to get to know what our values and culture say about us.
- Our roles are listed on our vacancies page and a click through allows you to make your application via a very brief (and we promise it's not onerous) application form, to upload your CV and an optional covering letter
- You may prefer to talk first and we have our own dedicated in-house recruitment team that loves to talk about our business and what makes it such a special place to work
- The interview process differs for every team, at every level. It is designed to assess your suitability for the role but, equally, we understand that you're assessing our suitability for your future career too. We’re here to guide you through this
- Feedback is an important part of the process so we ensure every candidate (successful or not) receives it after an interview, and we'd expect the same in return
If you don't see a vacancy, but like what you hear so far, why not make a speculative application.
Our commitment to your development starts with a comprehensive induction programme. From this point on we provide a range of learning and development opportunities and skills training. We have our own IT trainers who will introduce you to our bespoke systems and ensure you have the technology you need. Additionally, you’ll receive regular one-to-one reviews and annual appraisals, driven nationally by our in house learning & development team.
But it doesn’t end there. Development programmes aren't just limited to lawyers. We’re committed to offering development opportunities to enable everyone to fulfil their potential and pass on this success to our clients. That means supporting you if you want to embark on specific skills courses or additional qualifications. We recognise the value that a professional qualification can add in your current role and also prepare you for future roles within the firm.
This is one of the ways we invest in our own talent. We actively encourage internal promotion. We want you to step out of your comfort zone, knowing that we’re by your side to support you at each step. It is our people that make us such a successful firm and we recognise it when individuals or teams have achieved outstanding results and celebrate their success.
We work hard to ensure that remuneration is competitive, and our approach to salary setting is consistent and fair. We have yearly pay reviews, usually in November.
We have a flexible benefits system, which is delivered online via Choices which allows employees to mix and match their benefit offering to best suit their personal circumstances. These include:
- Buying and selling holiday entitlement
- Life assurance
- Private medical cover and dental cover
- Pension contributions
- Childcare vouchers
- Travel loan schemes and discounted car parking schemes
- Cycle purchase scheme.
We also have bonus schemes in place which recognise performance against certain criteria and/or reward clear examples of those living our values. This allows our people to share in our success and to celebrate what matters most to our business.
Irrespective of which area of our support team you’re applying for, our recruitment team is here to talk you through the core skills needed for each of the roles advertised. Some roles will favour previous legal sector experience whilst others provide a real opportunity for people with experience from other sectors. In fact we welcome the challenge and insights that you often bring. You bring something new with you and we like this.
We have a strong culture, we know what we stand for and what we want to achieve. Delivering the high quality service we are known for requires team work, integrity, forward thinking, commercial acumen, the ability to adapt to change, determination and resourcefulness. We also like creativity and new ideas. What matters most to us are our clients and our people. When you join our support staff team you’ll realised that your clients can be both internal and external. That’s why we demand exceptional client service, strong interpersonal skills and the ability to building lasting professional relationships.
Understanding the environment in which we operate is important, but we value diversity, respect challenge and are keen to gain new perspectives. In short, we’re looking for the best people who want to be valued for what they are good at.
