Vicki specialises in planning, environmental, highways and compulsory purchase matters. She regularly advises on consenting strategies and the submission of planning and development consent order applications, the drafting and negotiation of section 106 and highways agreements, habitats regulations, environmental impact assessment, permitted development rights and planning enforcement matters. Vicki also has considerable experience of judicial reviews and statutory challenges in the High Court, as well as managing high profile planning inquiries and appeals.

Vicki has particular expertise in delivering large scale infrastructure schemes in the energy and transport sectors. She has acted on behalf of a number of developers to obtain consents for onshore and offshore wind energy projects, CCGT, biomass and energy from waste facilities, as well as transport schemes including the construction of new highways and aviation expansion projects. Vicki has also advised on large residential and mixed use development schemes across the country.

Vicki is on the Council of the National Infrastructure Planning Association and regularly provides insight on issues and developments in planning law.

  • ESB International on its development consent order for the Knottingley Power Project (a combined cycle gas turbine power station), for which development consent was made on 10 March 2015
  • Veolia and SITA on planning inquiries and appeals for energy from waste developments in Cornwall, South Gloucestershire, Shropshire, and Nottingham
  • Edenlaw on a controversial conversion scheme using office to residential permitted development rights, and related planning applications and appeals, in close proximity to a live music venue in Bristol.
