Womble Bond Dickinson has advised PANGAIA, a pioneering apparel brand and materials science company, ahead of the opening of its first standalone store in the UK later this year, located on Carnaby Street in Shaftesbury Capital’s vibrant Soho neighbourhood.
PANGAIA is a global collective of scientists, designers and technologists who create essential products from innovative bio-engineered materials and natural fibres. The brand’s vision is to inspire and accelerate a positive Earth future, with every product it creates born from science and purpose, each solving an environmental problem of the apparel industry
Set at 57 Carnaby Street, the new 1,500 sq. ft store will showcase the brand’s genderless apparel collection, which includes hoodies, t-shirts, track pants and outerwear made from recycled and organic materials. The store aims to be more than just a retail space, as it also serves as an educational hub where shoppers can delve into PANGAIA’s innovative approaches to materials science and reconnect with nature and earth-conscious retailing in the heart of the city.
Partner Nikki Powell and associate Nesa Kayoueche from Womble Bond Dickinson’s real estate team advised PANGAIA on the deal to let the space from Shaftesbury Capital, which owns and manages a 16-acre portfolio in the heart of London's West End.
Nikki commented:
“We are delighted to have advised PANGAIA on this exciting milestone for their brand. Carnaby Street is an iconic destination for fashion, culture and innovation, and we are sure that PANGAIA’s store will be a great addition to the area. This transaction demonstrates the resilience and creativity of the retail sector in adapting to the changing needs and preferences of consumers, especially in relation to sustainability and social responsibility.”
Nathalie Longuet, CEO at PANGAIA said:
“We are delighted to be opening our first UK standalone store on Carnaby Street, one of the most iconic and historic streets in London.
