Womble Bond Dickinson (WBD) has strengthened its real estate team in the UK, with the appointment of Nicola Jonas who joins as a partner in the firm's Plymouth office.

Nicola rejoins from a regional firm and specialises in commercial property, acting for landlords and tenants on portfolio property management, site acquisitions and disposals. She has a strong track record advising the renewable energy sector, particularly wind farm and hydropower developers on all property aspects of their acquisitions of sites for the development of their clean energy projects. Nicola also has strong contacts in the aviation sector and in her previous role advised one of Europe’s largest regional airlines in connection with all of their property requirements. This appointment represents Nicola's return to WBD where she previously worked as a managing associate. She is highly regarded by the legal directories.

Nicola's appointment represents the latest in a series of senior hires across WBD's real estate practice in the UK. This includes new partners Kathryn Wood and Paul Mason, based in Leeds and Edinburgh respectively, alongside senior counsel Adam Taylor-Smith and his team, consisting of managing associate Georgina Hook and associate Brittany Beaumont, all three based across WBD's London and Southampton offices; and Edinburgh-based managing associate Clare Lamond.

The firm's Plymouth office has also grown from strength to strength in recent months with a number of senior promotions including new partner Stephen Panton, managing associate Jason Hobday and associate Sarah Dinshaw. Andrij Jurkiw, partner and head of WBD's national competition team, also relocated to Plymouth in the past year.
