Womble Bond Dickinson (WBD) has donated around one tonne of food and drinks to foodbanks across the UK as they faced one of their busiest periods over the summer school holidays.

The firm launched the WBD National Foodbank Appeal at the beginning of August in an effort to support foodbanks which urgently called for summer donations. WBD has been supporting foodbanks over the last twelve months and in total has donated some 2.5 tonnes of much needed food and drinks.

Asmah Baig, Responsible Business Manager, said:

"We strongly believe that successful businesses have a responsibility to support their local communities and we're delighted to have been able to help foodbanks so they remain stocked up and can continue to support families and everyone that is in need all year round.

"We would like to say a big thank you to all our staff who really got behind the appeal this summer to help us reach the impressive one tonne mark."

WBD is heavily involved in a comprehensive Corporate Social Responsibility programme, supporting a number of charities across its eight UK offices including The Prince's Trust, Jeremiah's Journey, St Peter's Hospice, Southampton Hospital, Greenwich Legal Advice Centre, Percy Hedley and Social Bite to name a few.
