International law firm Womble Bond Dickinson (WBD) has nabbed three awards at a leading financial services industry awards ceremony which recognises organisations delivering excellence in global compliance.
The firm picked up three wins at the Compliance Register Platinum Awards, including the Best Law Firm in the field of compliance and regulatory work, with WBD legal director and practice development lawyer for the firm's financial institutions sector Emma Radmore taking both the Best Regulatory Lawyer and Best Compliance Trainer awards.
The firm has been no stranger to success at the awards – winning the Overall Best Law Firm in previous years, most recently in 2019, and best Law Firm for regulatory advice in the past two years – while Emma, who advises and trains clients on all aspects of financial services regulation and the prevention of financial crime, successfully defended her Best Regulatory Lawyer title after winning the same category for the third year running and regained the Best Compliance Trainer award she's also won in the past.
Now in its 21st year, the awards are voted on by members of industry body the Academy of Compliance Excellence (ACE), highlighting those teams and individuals which show a high amount of commitment, expertise, and excellence within the compliance industry.
The ceremony also doubles as a way to help give back to the community, with funds raised in support of Cancer Research UK over the course of the evening and post-event.
Emma Radmore said:
"It's a great honour to see the success of our wider team continue to be recognised by the Platinum Awards for their hard work advising clients on their financial regulatory compliance as well as be personally recognised both as an adviser and a trainer."
Michael Lewis, head of the firm's financial regulatory practice, said:
"We are proud to support our clients navigate this often complex and far-reaching part of the industry, and given these awards are built off industry nominations, it's encouraging to see this recognition extends beyond our clients as well. We look forward to being able to continue delivering the high-quality support in this area that our clients have come to expect and we thank those who have nominated us for these accolades."
WBD helps clients both within and outside the traditional financial institutions sector to navigate the regulatory landscape , providing a wide range of services including advising firms on their regulatory status, advising on prudential, governance and conduct issues, including the SMCR and compliance with the Consumer Duty, advising on outsourcing and commercial and distribution arrangements, training staff, providing advice on financial crime prevention, and advising on regulatory strategies for non-bank financial services providers such as fintechs.
