Emma specialises in commercial contract matters having joined the team the Commercial Team upon qualification. She has experience of advising clients in a wide range of business sectors including energy, property, transportation and manufacturing.

Emma's work has seen her undertakes a broad range of services agreements and, in particular, property management agreements. She works with clients to ensure that the agreements reflect their commercial objectives, adopting a practical approach in the advice she gives and offers guidance which is current and relevant.

Emma spent twenty months on secondment to a large retailer, drafting and negotiating commercial agreements covering supply/purchase of goods and services, distribution, logistics, outsourcing, IP licencing, sponsorship and research & development.

Emma is CIPP/E certified.

Experience

Examples of experience include advising:
  • A leading energy home services provider on an demand side response agreement allowing the control of internet-enabled devices to create a virtual power plant enabling the management and distribution of power, supporting the National Grid's balancing mechanism controlling supply and demand on the UK's electricity network
  • Whilst on secondment, the implementation of an enhanced age restricted sales programme, including (i) attending on-site audits with the Primary Authority and Store Operations team and feeding back recommendations; and (ii) drafting the final version of an age restricted policy for submission to the Primary Authority for assured advice
  • A large affordable housing provider on a bespoke and complex framework property management agreement
  • On the drafting of numerous commercial agreements for a large retailer including a number of variations with a combined value of circa £250k
  • A large grocery retailer on a number of agreements including contracts for the supply of goods and services, apprenticeship agreements, and a proposed bespoke employment benefit scheme.
