Womble Bond Dickinson has donated a large collection of law books to the Magistrate’s Court Service on the Caribbean Island of Montserrat.

Rosy Wassell of the firm's Library and Information Services team coordinated the donation and shipment of over 28 boxes of case law and legislative books, with the donation going towards the restoration of the Magistrate’s Court Service's library. A large number of books were lost as a result of the recent volcanic eruptions, with the Courts forced to relocate within the island.

Anna Carey, Library and Information Manager comments:

"Beyond charity fundraising, our CSR agenda focuses strongly on how best to share our skills and our knowledge as well as providing access to justice for everyone, wherever they may be. We're really pleased to have been able to support Montserrat's legal community with our donation which we hope will play a small part in rebuilding the Magistrate's Court Service following the devastating effects of the volcanic eruptions."

WBD is heavily involved in a strong responsible business programme across the UK and beyond supporting charities, community projects and local initiatives. The firm's responsible business strategy revolves around social inclusion and the 3Es to drive Education, Employment and Entrepreneurship.
