International law firm Womble Bond Dickinson (WBD) has advised a leading estate and letting agency acquirer on a breakthrough acquisition into the London property market.

The firm has advised Lomond on the purchase of Chase Evans, an agency with more than 3,500 properties under management, which is based in key areas of London including Canary Wharf, Elephant and Castle, Docklands, and Greenwich.

The acquisition will see the highly-respected brand retain its presence in London with further potential to grow and enhance the Group's overseas landlord base through additional key cities.

A WBD team led by partner Simon Pilling and managing associate Catherine Willis advised Lomond on the deal, with additional support from solicitor Danny Jeffrey, legal director Liz Evans on real estate requirements, and associate Sandy Duncanson on employment matters.

The acquisition is the latest in the organisation's portfolio, which now manages more than 45,000 properties over 100 branches stretching across the UK.

WBD has advised Lomond on a number of its acquisitions, most recently on the purchase of Charters to help Lomond further their reach in the south and south west of England.

Simon Pilling said:

"This acquisition is a landmark moment in Lomond's growth and expansion within the property market by bringing in an established and well-trusted brand in London, and our team is proud to have provided legal expertise and support across multiple areas to help finalise this transaction.

With the deal marking a significant investment from Lomond, it's been a privilege to support a long-standing client like Lomond as they continue on a strong path of growth across the country."

Ed Phillips, CEO of Lomond, said:

"Not only does our acquisition of Chase Evans give us an immediate foothold into some very important markets, but we also stand to inherit a great deal of knowledge and experience which we believe will be vital as we look to expand further across the capital.

The WBD team were vital to helping get this transaction across the line, and their wide-reaching knowledge and skills across the board helped ensure every angle of this purchase was the right one from a legal point of view."
