By reducing our environmental footprint and improving our sustainable business practices, Womble Bond Dickinson (WBD) is making a positive impact on the natural world around us.
We know that systemic changes takes time, but we don't underestimate our role in addressing climate change for a sustainable future. Developing and stretching our environmental targets is core to our business, set out in our Carbon Reduction Plan and our commitment to net zero by 2030.
Although this may seem an ambitious target, the firm pledges to help build a cleaner and greener future for all. To achieve this, we continue to collaborate with our people, clients, and suppliers to consistently measure, report and reduce our impact on the environment – taking positive action on climate change.
As a founding and active executive member of the Legal Sustainability Alliance, WBD collaborates with other law firms to take positive action on creating sustainable solutions in the legal sector, whilst measuring, reducing and reporting our own carbon footprint.
To do this, we've introduced practical measures across WBD's UK offices; from launching campaigns to reduce plastic and paper usage, to introducing LED lighting and cutting down food waste. On a larger scale, we regularly review our office space and invest in carbon-efficient workspaces; from our Leeds office refurbishment project to our move to The Spark in Newcastle (which reduced our space footprint in the city by approximately 50% alone).
