Ruth is a member of the WBD InHouse team, which provides affordable, scalable in-house legal services to clients. Ruth is a commercial lawyer with a wealth of experience spanning over 15 years' of working in private practice and in-house.
Ruth has spent the majority of her career at the firm in the Projects and Procurement team advising on major PPP/PFI projects across the UK. Following a career break to care for young children Ruth briefly worked as in-house counsel for an oil and gas company before returning to Womble Bond Dickinson as a member of the WBD InHouse team. She is approachable and pragmatic and prides herself on giving clear, concise and commercial legal advice. Ruth’s areas of expertise include advising on all manner of commercial contracts from supply contracts for goods and services, procurement and outsourcing agreements to bespoke commercial contracts and complex PPP/PFI agreements. As an experienced commercial lawyer with in-house experience Ruth advises all sizes of clients across a range of sectors.
Ruth has recently completed a long-term secondment as sole in-house counsel for a pharmaceutical and biotechnical company. Ruth drafted and negotiated commercial contracts for the business and advised on risk and compliance matters. During her secondment she also assisted with the sale of the business working closely with the leadership team.
