Briana Erickson has been advising clients in the life sciences sector on intellectual property matters for over 12 years. Her practice focuses on the development and implementation of IP strategies in the fields of immunology, biotechnology, gene editing, stem cells, molecular diagnostics, RNA interference, nutraceuticals, medical devices, microbiology, and tissue engineering. Briana’s clients rely on her for her extensive experience in patent procurement and patent portfolio management, IP due diligence evaluations associated with acquisitions, mergers, and collaborations, freedom-to-operate assessments, preparation of validity and infringement opinions, and strategic intellectual property counseling. Her experience includes drafting and worldwide prosecution of patent applications which protect FDA approved products, and patent lifecycle management for biologic drug products. Briana’s clients include global pharmaceutical corporations, small and mid-sized biotechnology companies, start-up companies, and academic institutions.

Briana received her Ph.D. from Brown University in molecular biology, cell biology, and biochemistry, where she conducted research elucidating the role of cell adhesion molecules in hepatic injury and hepatocellular carcinoma. Her research has been published in leading scientific journals and presented at several scientific meetings.

Briana has been recognized in Massachusetts Super Lawyers as a "Rising Star" from 2014-2018.
