Womble Bond Dickinson (WBD) has advised longstanding client Piper, the leading specialist investor in fast-growing consumer brands, on its £5m investment into Wild Nutrition, a natural health supplements brand.

Founded in 2013 by husband and wife team Henrietta and Charlie Norton, Wild Nutrition has disrupted the UK’s £20bn health and wellness market. The brand offers supplements that are ethically and sustainably formulated by an in-house team who source the highest quality, fully traceable ingredients to provide solutions to common health needs – including pregnancy, fertility, immunity, energy, gut health, sleep, stress and anxiety and hormonal health.

Piper’s investment will allow Wild Nutrition to invest in strengthening the team, bring out a range of innovative new products, drive online growth in the UK and expand internationally.

The WBD team representing Piper was led by the firm's Bristol corporate practice with partner Simon Hewes, managing associate Sammy Hill and solicitor Jo Norris advising on the transaction.

WBD has a longstanding relationship with Piper and acted on many significant deals for the equity firm, including on its investments into ForthgladeThe Thinking TravelerPet Food UK, Flat Iron Restaurants, Neom Organics, Bottlegreen, Loungers, Orlebar Brown and Mindful Chef, on which WBD also subsequently advised the client on the sale of the business to the world's largest food & beverage company Nestlé.

Simon Hewes of WBD commented:

"Our relationship with Piper is well into its second decade and during that time we have seen the equity firm grow from strength to strength and become the partner of choice for ambitious founders looking to grow their business into global brands consumers love. We're thrilled to have advised the Piper team on this exciting investment into yet another fast-growing business."

Dan Stern, Partner at Piper, added:

"The Wild Nutrition brand has transformed the lives of customers through its highly effective formulations and online expert nutritional consultations. We are looking forward to working with Henrietta and Charlie to take the business to new heights. Once again we extend our thanks to Simon, Sammy, Jo and the whole WBD team for the first rate legal expertise we have come to expect from the firm."

Ranking in the UK's top 20 law firms, WBD provides legal expertise in its key sectors from across seven offices in the UK and 19 offices in the US. The firm has a large corporate practice in the UK advising national and international clients on a broad range of corporate transactions, particularly M&A, IPOs, joint ventures, private equity investments as well as growth and development capital fundraisings.
