Young Seok Koo is a registered patent attorney experienced in all aspects of patent law, and his practice focuses on U.S. and foreign patent prosecution, opinion work, due diligence studies, and client counseling. 

Young has counseled clients of various sizes on infringement, invalidity, and pre-litigation strategies and has been involved in numerous intellectual property dispute cases. He also advises clients in trademark and trade secret law. His technological knowledge spans a broad range of electronic and computer software technologies in a variety of fields, including:

  • Automotive technologies (autonomous driving and advanced driver-assistance systems, and brake, steering, and suspension systems)
  • Multi-media codecs (encoders and decoders for audio, video, and 3D)

Prior to relocating to the U.S., Young worked at a large IP law firm in Seoul, Korea, where he focused on registering, licensing, and strategizing the makeup and presentation of patent portfolios for large-cap companies.
