Womble Bond Dickinson (WBD) has advised Peregryn Motors, a newly formed US company, on its acquisition of the intellectual property, rights and tooling for the entire Ultima Cars range from British manufacturer Ultima Sports Ltd. Watch their launch video below to learn more.

Following the acquisition, Peregryn plans to offer fully assembled turn-key vehicles, built in the USA for customers worldwide, from 2027. Once operational, the new US-based business intends to produce two models: the road-focused Ultima GT-S and the track-focused GT-R.

The WBD UK team was led by corporate partner David Ridley, with support from solicitor Ellie Jefferson and trainee solicitor Helena Forster. The matter was introduced through WBD US partner Bill Ramsay, demonstrating the strength of the firm’s transatlantic platform and its ability to support US clients on strategic UK acquisitions.

David Ridley, corporate partner at Womble Bond Dickinson, said:

“We’re delighted to have advised Peregryn on this acquisition. Ultima has an impressive heritage and a loyal following among performance car enthusiasts, and this transaction provides a strong platform for the next phase of its development in the US market.

“The deal is also a great example of WBD’s UK and US teams working together to support clients on cross-border opportunities. We were pleased to help Peregryn navigate the UK aspects of the transaction and look forward to seeing Ultima continue its journey under Peregryn’s stewardship.”

Chris Eby, CEO & Co-Founder of Peregryn said:

“Ultima is a British performance car icon with a remarkable legacy, and we are excited to build on that foundation as we bring production to the United States. Our vision is to create ultra-limited, track-inspired supercars that remain true to Ultima’s record-setting designs while introducing new innovation, performance and refinement for customers worldwide. The advice from David and his team at WBD was invaluable throughout the acquisition process, combining clear commercial guidance with an understanding of the international dimensions of the deal. We are grateful to Womble Bond Dickinson for their support.”
