Womble Bond Dickinson (WBD) has been shortlisted at the 2025 FT Innovative Lawyers Awards Europe for its development of an automated solution that streamlines operations in its property litigation team.

Innovative Lawyers Awards 2025 Europe. Shortlisted.

Nominated in the 'Innovation in knowledge and data' category, the project originated from partner Fiona Graham's idea to address inefficiencies in managing telecoms agreements. Collaborating with the Complex Automations team, Fiona developed an automated system that streamlined processes and improved efficiency for both clients and the firm.

Sam Dixon, partner and chief innovation officer at WBD, commented:

"Being shortlisted for the 2025 FT Innovative Lawyers Awards Europe is a testament to our commitment to innovation and excellence. Fiona's pioneering work in developing an automated solution has not only transformed our property litigation team but has also set a new benchmark for legal tech innovation."

In addition to developing the system, Fiona also led the creation of a dedicated HighQ site, featuring automated workflows for various notices under the Electronic Communications Code. Ria Wilkinson and Megan Price played a crucial role in creating the process maps that guide these workflows. Additionally, Fiona developed a comprehensive set of training videos, documents, and client guidance notes to support newcomers and improve process management.

The system is part of WBD's wider strategy to leverage the power of technology to enhance its client service delivery and internal efficiency.

The FT Innovative Lawyers Awards celebrate the most innovative legal work in Europe and recognise the law firms and legal service providers that are driving change in the industry. The awards ceremony takes place on 18 September at the Natural History Museum, London.
