Womble Bond Dickinson has celebrated its recent combination with US firm Womble Carlyle at an event in Southampton last week.
The event was organised by Womble Bond Dickinson's Southampton Real Estate team, bringing together over 50 attendees including some of the firm's key real estate clients and contacts such as B&Q, Associated British Ports and Handelsbanken.
The evening took place at the Dancing Man, a micro-brewery on Southampton water, with guests being entertained by an illusionist and enjoying some house brewed craft beers and ales. Womble Bond Dickinson was also given the opportunity to name its own beer – choosing the name 'Transatlantic' for an ale aptly brewed in Southampton with hops from the US.
Jon Hales, Partner and Southampton Office Head, said: "The event last week was an opportunity for us to catch up with valued clients and contacts while promoting our combination and the extended capability we can now offer. Becoming Womble Bond Dickinson gives us a unique footprint with direct access to some of the best legal minds in the US and UK, increasing our intellectual capital and opening up greater commercial opportunities for our international, national and regional clients alike."
Womble Bond Dickinson has a strong regional and national practice. In this year's Legal 500, a guide to the legal profession, the firm's sector expertise was commended with seven leading individuals in real estate and a further 64 recommendations of lawyers in the sector. Real Estate also achieved 17 top tier rankings across Womble Bond Dickinson's office locations including Southampton.
