Womble Bond Dickinson (WBD) has won the Contribution to the Community Award at the Bristol Live & Bristol Post Business Awards 2019.

Key highlights for WBD this year include raising £80,000 for St Peter's Hospice and £19,000 for The Prince's Trust; donating over 200kgs of food and drinks to East Bristol Foodbank; supporting the Grand Appeal summer art trail; achieving The Planet Mark certification on the back of our efforts to reduce carbon emissions; and providing continued support to local schools with careers education and literacy skills through our work with Oasis Academy and Bristol Sport Community Foundation.

Jonathan Bower, Partner and Head of Responsible Business in WBD's Bristol office, commented:

"I'm very proud that we've won this award. Developing and nurturing long-lasting relationships with our charity partners is core to our responsible business philosophy which enables us to create maximum social impact through mentoring, volunteering, fundraising, pro bono work and raising awareness. Here in Bristol we have a strong focus on diversity and inclusion, social mobility, apprenticeships, careers education and environmental sustainability. It is great to see our efforts recognised in this way as so many colleagues have played a part in supporting our community.

The awards ceremony last night offered local businesses an opportunity to share stories and come together to celebrate Bristol’s best and most innovative companies.
