Womble Bond Dickinson (WBD) has advised Bermuda-based Arch Reinsurance Ltd. on its agreement to acquire Somerset Bridge Group Limited, Southern Rock Holdings Limited and their subsidiaries.
The acquisition, which remains subject to regulatory approval, will include Somerset’s motor managing general agent, distribution capabilities through direct and aggregator channels, affiliated insurer and fully integrated claims operation.
The WBD team was led by corporate partner Tom Fitzpatrick. WBD has previously advised Arch on its acquisition of Barbican Group, an acquisition of Ardonagh's commercial lines business and also on a Brexit-related transfer of a portfolio of European insurance policies from London to Ireland.
