International law firm Womble Bond Dickinson (WBD) has once again been recognised for its quality of work across numerous practice areas by a leading legal industry directory.

The firm has been recommended in 84 practice areas across the UK in the Legal 500 2025 guide, a global directory which analyses the capabilities and expertise of law firms across more than 150 jurisdictions.

WBD achieved 29 top tier rankings across the recommendations in practice areas including Banking and Finance, Employment, Health and Safety, and Planning, with tier 1 rankings achieved in the South West, South East, Yorkshire, and the North.

The firm was highlighted in the directory for its commitment to high-quality client support and the range of specialist expertise available at both a local and international level in the directories, which are collated following a thorough research process including detailed submissions, client feedback and independent research.

Individual members of the firm were also recognised for their experience and strong support of clients in their practice areas, with 14 included within Legal 500's 'Hall of Fame' – often partners who are regarded as being at the very pinnacle of the profession.

An additional 44 lawyers have been listed as 'Leading Partners' in their area, which aims to identify those who lead on 'market-leading deals and endorsed by peers and clients alike', while 18 were classed as 'Next Generation Partners', which represents those who have gained 'significant recognition from clients and peers in the market'.

WBD also saw 20 lawyers named as 'Leading Associates', regarded by the directory as ones to watch as future leaders in their practice area.

The 2025 Legal 500 rankings follows on from the firm's appearance in the Legal 500 Future Lawyers survey, which saw the firm achieve top 20 marks in two areas – sustainability and legal technology.
