Alexander Dickinson has been named as the new UK Chair of international law firm Womble Bond Dickinson.
Alexander, who is a partner in the firm's Private Wealth team, is succeeding Nick Barwood in the position and took up the role on 1 April 2024 for a three-year term.
Having been with the firm for more than thirty years, Alexander has played a leading role in the substantial growth of the firm’s Private Wealth Business Group and is currently focussed on providing strategic advice to clients with significant real estate assets.
As part of his move into the Chair position, he will balance his current role as key advisor for major client accounts as well as the day-to-day activities as Chair, including acting as a board level sponsor for a number of the firm's programmes and initiatives.
Alexander said:
"It is a privilege to take on this role. As UK Chair, I look forward to working with our people to ensure that our clients continue to receive excellent service and support.
Our firm is on an exciting path towards the overarching strategy we have in place, and I look forward to playing a significant role in its execution, and I wish to thank Nick for his commitment to the firm and the strong culture of innovation he has fostered during his three years as UK Chair."
Paul Stewart, Managing Partner at WBD, said:
"I am delighted to be able to welcome Alexander into the role of Chair, who brings a wealth of experience from his decades of service to the firm. I would also like to thank Nick for his dedication and commitment to the role over the last three years.
As we enter a crucial period of working towards the core strategic objectives we have set out as a firm to deliver sustainable and responsible growth, I look forward to working with Alexander to push the firm further forward."
