Umi joined the planning and infrastructure team at the firm in August 2021 and prior to this trained and qualified within public sector in-house legal departments. Her specialist experience includes drafting and negotiating section 106 planning agreements and highway agreements under section 38 and section 278. She is experienced in advising council officers on preparing officer reports, and advising at planning and rights of way committee meetings to guide and advise on a range of procedural, policy, planning and rights of way matters. In addition to this she has represented local authorities at rights of way public local inquiries and at the Magistrates' Court in relation to stopping up highways. Umi's practice regularly involves advising on complex planning agreements and related highway, rights of way and traffic regulation order aspects of a development scheme.
