Kathrine is Head of our Public Procurement Unit in the UK and has over 18 years’ experience as a specialist public procurement lawyer.  

Kathrine also leads our State aid practice.  

Her clients include UK central government departments and their agencies, local authorities, housing associations, universities and utilities, as well as suppliers, from SMEs to seasoned international bidders.  

Kathrine has a wealth of experience of providing clear strategic advice on complex issues, including when contracts have to be tendered, and on structuring and running high value procurements.  She provides ‘real life’ risk management advice and practical solutions.

Kathrine advises on projects in diverse sectors including infrastructure, energy, health, R&D&I, student accommodation, facilities management, frameworks, outsourcing, IT, professional services, healthcare, construction, regeneration projects and development agreements.  

Kathrine is regularly invited to speak at external conferences, including White Paper, UK Local Government Group and RICS.  Kathrine also contributes articles and commentaries to UK news sources and journals and runs bespoke training seminars and workshops for clients on public procurement and State aid.  

Examples of experience include advising:
  • Various train operating companies on procurement issues relating to the acquisition of rolling stock and associated supply chain contracts for associated support services
  • A number of local authorities on regeneration and mixed use/retail led development projects, including structures which are not caught by the procurement rules
  • A nuclear site licence company, as a key advisor on a large number of high value, complex procurements, including the procurement of a major infrastructure strategic partnering contract.
