Joseph is a Managing Associate in the Transport team. He has a expertise in a wide range of matters affecting railway businesses advising both public sector and private sector clients on a variety of legal, commercial and regulatory issues concerning the rail industry.
Named as a 'rising star' in The Legal 500, Joseph specialises in advising on large and complex projects in the rail sector. He has significant experience of advising on the procurement of new rolling stock, rolling stock modification projects, light and heavy rail franchising issues (including the new National Rail Contracts) and in life management, transfer schemes and franchise mobilisation as well as a variety of general commercial and operational contracts in the wider transport sector.

London North Eastern Railway on the procurement of a new fleet of trains including associated maintenance and leasing arrangements
- Stadler Rail Services UK on maintenance contracts relating to locomotives to be procured for and operated on the UK rail network by various freight operating companies
- Southeastern on the handover of the South Eastern franchise to SE Trains Limited
- Abellio on the full fleet replacement and simultaneous procurement of rolling stock from two different manufacturers for the East Anglia rail franchise
- Transdev on its bid to operate the Greater Manchester Metrolink
- Arriva Trains Wales and Chiltern Railway on the procurement of passenger on-train Wi-Fi equipment and services (including franchise agreement amendments and services agreements)
- Govia on its bid to operate the Northern franchise
- KeoGo on its bid to operate the TransPennine Express franchise
- Govia Thameslink Railway on the procurement of new class 717 rolling stock for the Great Northern suburban routes
