Jake is an associate in Womble Bond Dickinson's banking team and acts for a variety of different types of lenders as well as borrowers. His experience includes structured real estate, project, acquisition and leveraged finance transactions. Jake works closely with our corporate team providing debt-finance expertise on acquisitions, particularly in the private equity market.
In 2023, Jake completed a successful secondment with Barclays corporate lending legal team. He trained with the firm and previously worked for Santander UK plc.
Jake is a trustee of the North Star Academy Trust, a multi-academy trust comprising nine schools in West and North Yorkshire.
Experience
Examples of recent experience include advising:
- Lloyds Development Capital – on senior debt funding for each of its award-winning investments in Linley and Simpson Limited and Aspire Technology Solutions
- A syndicate of lenders – on their £200m facilities to one of the UK's largest privately owned property investment companies
- Anaergia Inc. – on its €100 million junior loan note funding programme with Arjun Infrastructure Partners in relation of energy from waste facilities in Europe
- A Luxembourg based investment fund – on a number of real estate finance transactions, primarily in the manufacturing, hospitality and technology sectors
- An international Bank – on a restructuring of its facilities in relation to a landmark commercial and residential development in Leeds.
