Catherine is a Managing Associate specialising in commercial real estate law and is part of the Senior Management Team overseeing the Legal Solutions Centre (LSC) in Plymouth.
Catherine joined Womble Bond Dickinson in July 2019 following three years of experience advising local business owners in Plymouth on a wide range of commercial property transactions. Prior to this, Catherine worked in Dubai for a leading international law firm for six years and a busy legal consultancy firm for two years. During this time she acted for many leading developers and international investors in relation to some of Dubai's most iconic developments.
As one of the technical specialists embedded within the LSC, Catherine helps teams in the business deliver high quality and cost effective solutions to their clients. This includes implementing innovative and collaborative ways of working whether that is by use of time-saving technology, such as HighQ, Kira and Exari, or by looking for process efficiencies and using flexible resources.
The LSC has grown and developed to over 80 paralegals, chartered legal executives, and management information specialists capable of providing support to teams and direct to clients on an ongoing basis for large scale projects including e-disclosure, high volume real estate due diligence, contract review, remediation and production and project management.
Experience
- Advising local business owners on commercial landlord and tenant issues including new leases, lease renewals, assignments and licences for alterations
- Acting on freehold sales and acquisitions of commercial sites for local business owners, investors and SIPPs
- Providing the real estate due diligence for an international IT consultancy firm on the acquisition of shares from a UK based consumer review company
- Acting on the acquisition of a 41 acre site in Dubai for a unique mixed use development, the preparation of off plan sale and purchase agreements and ongoing advice following completion.
