Bede joined the firm in October 2022 as a solicitor in the corporate team, having trained in a corporate commercial team in the Midlands before returning to his hometown of Newcastle.

He provides assistance and advises companies, management teams, investors and shareholders, on a range of corporate matters including disposals, acquisitions, investments, group reorganisations, shareholders agreements as well as providing general company law and governance advice.

Bede has experience of working on a variety of transactions primarily involving owner-managed businesses, SMEs and start-ups across a range of sectors including technology, hospitality, manufacturing and energy.

  • Lomond Group on its acquisition of Charters, an estate agents
  • Middleton Enterprises on its investment into Sushidog, a chain of sushi fast food restaurants
  • Ceto AI, a maritime predictive analytics company, on an investment of £1.5 million led by Howden Ventures with participation from Chaucer GroupFounders Factory and existing investors
  • Mercia Asset Management plc, on numerous investments including:
    • Investments in excess of £2 million into Equiwatt, green energy tech company
    • Investment into Haystack App, a digital recruitment platform
    • Investment in excess of £1 million into ART Health Solutions, an employee wellbeing app
    • Investments in Handbag Clinic, a luxury handbag restoration business.
