Abigail joined the firm in 2017 as a Paralegal Apprentice in the Recovery+ team within the Legal Solutions Centre (LSC). Abigail has gone on to complete her studies alongside her work and qualified as a Chartered Legal Executive in 2023.
Now a key member of the team, Abigail specialises in debt recovery and civil litigation by providing advice to a number of clients in respect of civil and commercial disputes. One of her major clients is a Higher Education training provider who she has worked with to reduce a significant backlog of overdue fees.
Abigail has also assisted other teams within the business in respect of disclosure projects, enforcement advice and other debt recovery ad hoc tasks.
Experience
Abigail's experience includes:
- Drafting correspondence to debtors, litigants in person, third parties and other legal professionals
- Providing clients with written and verbal strategic, straightforward and cost-effective advice
- Pursuing breach of contract claims against debtors and defending claims from consumers across all tracks
- Alternative Dispute Resolution: attending telephone mediation appointments, negotiating at settlement meetings and drafting settlement agreements
- Enforcing costs ordered and judgment debts through various enforcement methods
- Insolvency: includes conducting initial searches, preparing statutory demands and drafting bankruptcy and winding up petition documents.
