Two Womble Bond Dickinson (WBD) lawyers have been elected to the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners’ (STEP) England and Wales Regional Committee. STEP is the global professional body for specialists in trusts, estates and succession planning.

Paula Myers, a partner in WBD’s Private Wealth team in Leeds, was elected to represent the North East constituency. Michael Conway, a managing associate in the firm’s Bristol office, was elected to represent Wales and the West. Their three-year terms will begin on 1 January 2027.

Paula is one of the UK’s leading contentious private client lawyers and has more than 25 years’ experience advising on complex trust, estate and inheritance disputes. Michael has 10 years’ experience advising individuals, families, trustees and personal representatives on private wealth and succession planning matters, and has served on the STEP Bristol Committee since 2021.

Commenting on her appointment, Paula said:

“STEP makes an important contribution to the development of the trust and estate profession. I am delighted to have been elected and look forward to representing members across the North East and contributing my experience to the committee’s work.”

Michael added:

“It is a privilege to have been elected by fellow STEP members. I look forward to supporting the committee and helping STEP continue to connect and champion private wealth professionals across Wales and the West.”

WBD’s nationally recognised Private Wealth practice advises individuals, families, trustees, family offices and landowners on complex domestic and cross-border matters.
