Tom Zamadics is a Private Wealth attorney who advises individuals and families on estate, trust, and tax planning. Tom is a trusted advisor who believes that proper planning comes from getting to know his clients and their values. Tom has significant experience in estate planning, trust and estate administrations, trust modifications, charitable planning, and tax-exempt organizations.
In his estate planning practice, Tom works with a wide variety of clients, including young families, blended families, business owners, retirees, the charitably-inclined, and newcomers to South Carolina. Tom advises families who need estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer tax planning as part of their wealth transfer planning. With recent increases to the estate tax exemption, Tom also routinely works with families who may not be subject to estate tax under current law but have the need to transfer wealth to the next generation in a bespoke manner.
In his trust and estate administration practice, Tom guides personal representatives and trustees through estate and trust administrations “from beginning to end.” Tom helps fiduciaries meet probate court requirements, communicate with beneficiaries, and collaborate with other professional advisors.
As part of his practice, Tom also assists with judicial and non-judicial modifications of trusts for tax and non-tax purposes. In the charitable space, Tom enjoys helping clients incorporate charitable planning into their estate plans and advising nonprofit organizations on tax-exempt and corporate governance matters.
