Womble Bond Dickinson has been re-appointed to the UK legal panel for Kingfisher, the multinational retailer and owner of B&Q and Screwfix in the UK.

The appointment follows Kingfisher's legal panel review in the UK, Spain and Portugal, Romania and Russia, bringing the total number of panel firms down from 25 to 17 in these five jurisdictions. The revamped panel was the result of an intensive review that considered legal services, fees and commitment to Kingfisher, alongside feedback from the Kingfisher legal leadership and the main internal users of legal services.

The Womble Bond Dickinson team, led by retail sector partner Julian Hamblin, will work alongside Kingfisher's in-house legal team in the UK, providing a full-service of legal expertise across a range of disciplines including commercial, information technology and employment.

Julian Hamblin of Womble Bond Dickinson commented: "We are delighted to continue our long-standing relationship with Kingfisher and we look forward to working with the team and other firms on the panel. This was a competitive tender process and our appointment recognises our strong legal expertise and credentials in Retail & Consumer."

Elizabeth Messud, Kingfisher Group Legal Director, added: “Our legal panel remains a fundamental piece of our legal services offering to the overall Kingfisher organisation. Our new, streamlined, legal panel will allow us to develop better working relationships with each of the successful firms to ensure the delivery of high-quality legal services and to ensure we get the best value for our spend on legal services, from a core group of specialists who really understand Kingfisher.”

Ranked in the UK's top 20 law firms, Womble Bond Dickinson has had long standing recognition for its expertise in the retail sector and delivers its services from across eight offices in the UK and 19 offices in the US.
