Womble Bond Dickinson Partner Kim Stogner has been elected to serve as President-Elect of the North Carolina Bar Association (NCBA). Kim will serve in 2023-24 as president-elect of the NCBA and the North Carolina Bar Foundation (NCBF) and will chair the Audit & Finance Committee of both organizations. She will be installed next June at the 2024 Annual Meeting as the 130th president of the NCBA.

The election took place June 23 at the NCBA Annual Meeting in Wilmington, N.C. Following her election, in keeping with NCBA tradition, Stogner was ushered to the stage by those past presidents who were in attendance at the event. 

NCBA Immediate Past President Jon Heyl, on behalf of the NCBA Past Presidents’ Council, nominated Stogner. Seconding speeches were provided by WBD Partner Scott Schaaf and Kilpatrick Townsend Partner Cynthia Rothschild.

She has extensive experience working closely with clients as trusted counsel on estate planning issues. Her business experience is frequently relied upon to guide investment advisory firms and corporate fiduciaries on matters involving estate and trust administration and disputes. She is a Fellow of the American College of Trusts and Estates Counsel (ACTEC) and a Certified Specialist in Estate Planning and Probate Law with the North Carolina State Bar.  Before attending law school, she acted as a personal trust officer for two national banking corporations and earned the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation.
