WBD attorney Gerard Clodomir presented to the North Carolina Chapter of CUPA-HR, an association of higher education HR professionals, on Friday, April 12.

Clodomir led a discussion on “AI and HR Legal”. His session provided an overview of the increasing use of artificial intelligence tools in employment, including to assist recruiting and hiring, employee engagement, and performance management. His presentation also covered the regulatory response to employers’ use of AI, including the status of enacted and proposed legislation, and EEOC guidance on compliance with federal employment discrimination laws. While AI tools and pertinent regulations are continuing to rapidly evolve, attendees learned some important considerations and best practices to keep in mind while incorporating any AI tools in HR functions.
