RALEIGH, N.C.—Once again, Womble Bond Dickinson has been named the Top Bond Counsel in North Carolina by The Bond Buyer. The rankings are based on approved public bond transactions.
In 2017, Womble Bond Dickinson successfully represented clients in $1.75 billion in approved public bond transactions. That was $400 million more than the second-place law firm.
Womble Bond Dickinson has dominated this honor in the past decade, having been named Top Bond Counsel in North Carolina on numerous occasions.
Womble Bond Dickinson’s North Carolina Public Finance Team is based in the firm’s Raleigh office and consists of lawyers Tom Lee, Paul Billow, Jon Mize and Sarah Core as well as paralegal Jennifer Distefano and administrative assistant Sheila Evans.
Lee, who heads the Public Finance Team, notes that he believes that the rankings are consistent with the “real world” experience the firm sees in the North Carolina bond practice. “Sometimes, one firm may work on one large transaction that can have a big impact on the results for the year, while other firms have a much busier practice for the whole year. We believe that we have the best practice in North Carolina by a number of measures, and we are very pleased to see that this one measure bears that out,” he said.
