Sarah knows the importance of building a dependable team. As part of the firm’s public finance team, she represents cities, counties and towns of various shapes and sizes across North Carolina as they issue municipal bonds. Sarah counsels these governments, along with other authorities, agencies, colleges and universities, as they finance the improvements they need to meet the evolving goals of North Carolinians. Her experience as bond counsel includes publicly offered and privately placed bond financings to fund projects like the construction of utilities facilities, government buildings and schools. Sarah has worked on a variety of municipal bond transactions, including general obligation bonds, revenue bonds, special and limited obligation bonds, installment financing agreements and other financings. In addition to serving as bond counsel, Sarah assists with public finance transactions as underwriter’s counsel, bank counsel and borrower’s counsel.

Prior to practicing municipal bond law, Sarah was a transactional lawyer in the firm’s Real Estate Group. She is a member of the National Association of Bond Lawyers, a Morehead-Cain Scholar and served as the Editor-in-Chief of the North Carolina Banking Institute Journal, Volume 18.
