Womble Carlyle’s D.C. office continues to add outstanding, experienced talent with the addition of intellectual property and government contracting attorney Les Jacobs as a Partner.

Jacobs helps tech industry clients procure, license and monetize patents and other intellectual property. Many of these companies are government contractors, and Les counsels clients in IP issues specific to government contracting.

In addition, Jacobs has litigated patent disputes in US District Courts around the United States and managed prosecution dockets for electronics, software, and business method-related inventions. He has also performed intellectual property due diligence for corporate deals.

Before becoming an IP attorney, Jacobs was a practicing electrical engineer.

“Les’ experience with tech and government contracting clients is a good fit with our existing practice,” Jeff McFadden, leader of Womble Carlyle’s Patent and IP Litigation Practice Groups.

Since the start of 2016, Womble Carlyle’s D.C. office has added lateral attorneys John Cuddihy (IP and Antitrust Litigation), Richard Garabedian (Capital Markets), Alex Park (Corporate & Securities), Marty Stern (Telecom) and now Jacobs.

“Womble Carlyle is a magnet for top talent in the D.C. market,” Pam Rothenberg, Managing Partner of Womble Carlyle’s D.C. Office, said. “We are delighted to have Les join us as another outstanding attorney on our team.”
