CHARLOTTE, N.C.—Womble Bond Dickinson attorney Claire Rauscher joined Tabitha Oman of Axalta Coating Systems in conducting a nationwide ACC webcast on “Compliance Officers as Enforcement Targets-How to Stay out of the Government’s Sights and Avoid Being The Target of a Criminal or Civil Investigation”. The June 12 webinar was sponsored by the Association of Corporate Counsel’s Compliance and Ethics Committee.

Compliance Officers are increasingly being held personally liable for compliance failures resulting in large fines as well as criminal prosecution.  The SEC and DOJ’s investigative focus on individual misconduct is holding compliance officers to very high standards.   This program discussed some of the enforcement actions that have been taken against compliance officers. The program also discussed insurance coverage and other things that should be considered during compliance officer’s employment negotiations.

Womble Bond Dickinson is the long-time sponsor of the ACC Compliance and Ethics Committee.

Claire Rauscher has more than 25 years of white collar criminal defense experience, having tried numerous cases, negotiated favorable resolutions and obtained dismissals.
