ATLANTA—Womble Bond Dickinson is set to sponsor two upcoming Atlanta conferences that will feature three of the firm’s litigation partners serving as panelists. Both events are part of Atlanta Arbitration Week.

The 11th Annual Atlanta International Arbitration Society (AtLAS) Conference will be held on Sept. 12-14. Rodney Miller will speak on a Sept. 12 panel titled “Practical Approaches to Managing International Commercial Arbitrations: Diverse Perspectives of Industry Players.” Joel Pieper will also speak on Sept. 12 at an AtLAS Tertulia session: “Welcome to the party – joinder and consolidation.”

Womble Bond Dickinson is a longtime supporter of AtLAS and sponsor of the event. AtLAS works to promote and enhance Atlanta as a place to resolve the world’s business disputes using international arbitration and mediation.

Additionally, Global Arbitration Review (GAR) Live Atlanta will be taking place on Sept. 13. Michael Sullivan will serve as a judge in an Oxford Union style debate, comparing opinions on a motion: ‘This house believes that if a quantum expert were managing the procedural side of a damages case, the case would proceed differently and better.’ Womble Bond Dickinson is a sponsor for this event, which will focus on international arbitration issues.

In Oxford Union style, teams of debaters argue in favor of, or against, a motion. A panel of judges then voices opinions on what has been heard, before choosing which side to support and giving reasons for their decisions.
