On November 1, Womble Bond Dickinson attorneys John Scannapieco and Frank Xue, patent agent Azie Aziz and former firm attorney Wilka Toppins attended the 2023 Huffington Award Luncheon, hosted by Asia Society Texas at the River Oaks Country Club. The luncheon honored Gary Locke, the trailblazing former two-term governor of Washington State and U.S. ambassador to China.

The Huffington Award is Asia Society Texas' highest honor, presented to outstanding leaders who have made significant contributions to international understanding. Past recipients include President George H.W. Bush, former ExxonMobil CEO and Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, Secretary of State James A. Baker III, and the Honorable Kevin Rudd (former Prime Minister of Australia).
