A good commercial lease is a mutually beneficial partnership between the landlord and renter. But sometimes, commercial leases go sideways and lead to disputes.
Womble Bond Dickinson attorney Ryan Ellard recently spoke on commercial lease disputes under South Carolina law. His presentation took place on Sept. 14 in Columbia at the Association of Corporate Counsel South Carolina Annual Meeting.
Their presentation addressed such topics as:
- Title 27 of the South Carolina Code and what it says about landlord-tenant disputes;
- Breaches, materiality, and forfeiture;
- Ejectment procedure; and
- Miscellaneous points of S.C. law.
