BALTIMORE—Womble Bond Dickinson will have a strong presence at the 2018 Legends of the Boardroom event , as attorneys Ted Claypoole, David Hamilton and Kurt Lindquist all will be speaking at the annual educational and networking program.
Hamilton will moderate a session titled “Ins and Outs of the Corporate M&A”. Hamilton will be joined in the discussion by Howard Bank SVP/General Counsel Joe Howard, Legg Mason General Counsel Tom Merchant, Canam Steel Corporation Vice President Ron Peppe, Brown Advisory General Counsel Brett Rogers and Pearson Online & Blended Learning K12 USA Chief Legal Officer Susan Saidi.
Hamilton also will moderate an “International Arbitration” panel discussion, with Lindquist taking part as a panelist. Other speakers will include Astea International, Inc. Ted Claypoole leads Womble’s Privacy and Cybersecurity Team, IP Transactions Team, and FinTech Team, and he just stepped down as chair of the ABA’s Cyberspace Law Committee and stepped onto the ABA Business Law Section Leadership Council. He has managed responses to scores of data exposure incidents in all types of businesses and has served as in-house tech counsel for CompuServe and Bank of America. With former White House CIO Theresa Payton, Claypoole has published the booksProtecting Your Internet Identity: Are You Naked Online? and Privacy in the Age of Big Data.
David Hamilton has experience in antitrust, class action, trade secrets, RICO, mergers and acquisitions, shareholder and partnerships disputes, franchise and other business competition claims. He has handled numerous cases involving multiple parties in large complex matters and has litigated cases in state and federal courts throughout the United States. Hamilton recently completed an 11-year term as Managing Partner of Womble Bond Dickinson’s Baltimore office and now serves on the firm’s Global Board and Firm Management Committee.
Kurt Lindquist is a highly trusted advisor who helps clients with dispute resolution issues in the United States and around the world. A highly experienced trial lawyer, clients come to Lindquist for advice and assistance in resolving conflicts concerning commercial matters including licensing agreements, supplier agreements, noncompetition agreements misappropriation of trade secrets as well as public law issues concerning claims of expropriation and breaches of bilateral investment treaties.
