Womble Carlyle’s Dean Rutley is known to many as one of Northern Virginia’s top mergers & acquisitions attorneys and as a multi-time honoree on the BTI Client Service All-Star list of counsel nationally. But long before any of that, Rutley was a competitive rower. His love for the sport began in middle school, led him to row for nationally ranked crew teams at Holy Spirit High School and George Washington University, and continues to this day. The teamwork, perseverance and resiliency he learned in the racing shell greatly impacted his career as an attorney. In this video, Rutley shares his passion for rowing and why the time he spends on the water makes him a better attorney and a more fulfilled person.
