BALTIMORE—The CFO Leadership Council is empowering financial executives to make an impact in their organizations and the greater Baltimore community, and Womble Bond Dickinson is proud to be a Founding Sponsor of the CFO Leadership Council’s Baltimore Chapter.

The Council provides educational and networking opportunities to chief financial officers and other senior-level financial executives. The Baltimore Chapter is the latest of 27 chapters in the US & Canada, representing more than 1,600 finance executives across a wide range of industries.

As part of the firm’s support of the CFO Leadership Council, Womble Bond Dickinson’s Baltimore office will host a series of informational sessions.

The first event, a program titled “Beyond the Numbers - The CFO as an Agent of Change”, took place September 18. This initial CFO Leadership Council event included a panel of seasoned CFOs who shared their experiences on the complexity of supporting growth, handling risk, and working with C-suite leadership.

This session will be followed by “Cybersecurity: How to Stay Ahead of the Latest Threats in Cyber” on October 29. This panel will focus on cyber-related issues from the standpoint of the CFO. Additional sessions will include thought leadership covering timely topics of interest to senior financial executives.

Christé Spiers, Director of Client Service in Womble Bond Dickinson’s Baltimore office, is serving on the Steering Committee of the CFO Leadership Council’s Baltimore Chapter. “CFOs & senior financial professionals are at the very center of navigating the challenges presented by a business environment that is evolving at an accelerating pace,” Spiers said. “We view the CFO Leadership Council as a much-needed resource for our local and regional business community and are thrilled to support the organization’s debut here in Baltimore.”

“We’re committed to serving the Baltimore business community and to helping local businesses succeed,” said Barry Herman, Managing Partner of Womble Bond Dickinson’s Baltimore office. “We are pleased to be able to join with other area companies to support the CFO Leadership Council Baltimore Chapter from the very beginning.”

“Baltimore is a natural fit for the CFO Leadership Council, given its prominence as a global commerce hub and our presence up and down the East Coast. We appreciate Womble Bond Dickinson’s support in helping bring the CFO Leadership Council to Baltimore,” Angela Tise, Northeast Regional Director and National Membership Chair of the CFO Leadership Council, said.

Womble Bond Dickinson is joined by Bank of America, Oracle, Netsuite, Robert Half, and SC&H Consulting Group as Founding Sponsors of the CFO Leadership Council Baltimore Chapter.
