RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C.—After leading Womble Bond Dickinson’s Research Triangle Park office since 2009, RTP Office Managing Partner Christopher Bolen is gearing up to assume firm-level leadership responsibilities.

Bolen is a member of the firm’s Global Board, the governing body that oversees and directs all transatlantic activities for Womble Bond Dickinson. Members include top leaders from both the UK and US sides of the firm. Bolen also is the former Co-Chair of Womble Bond Dickinson’s Intellectual Property Practice Group, and is the past Chair of the Intellectual Property Law Section of the North Carolina Bar Association.  His IP practice focuses on advising companies in the Life Sciences, Chemicals and Manufacturing Sectors.

“As an IP attorney, my practice is global in scope, so I’m excited to focus my leadership efforts on the firm’s transatlantic capabilities,” Bolen said. “It has been a privilege to lead the RTP office, and I look forward to remaining actively involved in this office and in the Triangle community.”

“I am grateful for Christopher’s leadership over the years throughout our Firm, including his service as managing partner of the RTP office,” said Raleigh Office Managing Partner Beth Jones. “Our RTP and Raleigh offices work together to serve the needs of our clients throughout the Triangle and beyond.”

Womble Bond Dickinson opened its RTP office in 1997 to serve the region’s booming tech industry. Today, Womble Bond Dickinson spans from Aberdeen to Atlanta, Boston to Bristol. Earlier this year, the firm expanded into Southern California with offices in Los Angeles and Orange County.

The leadership transition takes effect July 25, 2018.
